O & T: Family Photos at Hidden Acres in Queen Creek, Arizona
I first photographed Olivia and Theo during their maternity session, so it was fun to see them again a few months later with their son officially making his debut in front of my camera.
We met at Hidden Acres in Queen Creek on a typical Arizona summer evening. It was hot, the grass was somehow still green, and despite the temperature, everyone was in a good mood.
One thing I've learned photographing families is that babies tend to set the pace for the session. You can have a plan, but ultimately you're working around whatever mood they're in. Thankfully, their little guy was completely unbothered by the camera. Considering both of his parents are used to being photographed, I suppose it makes sense.
As much as I love photographing weddings and major milestones, sessions like these are a reminder that everyday seasons deserve to be documented too. The first year moves quickly, and there is something special about preserving what life looked like in the middle of it.
Having photographed Olivia and Theo before, I already knew this session would feel effortless. They're the kind of people who don't need much direction because they're genuinely comfortable together. Conversations flow easily, they trust the process, and they're never afraid to simply be themselves in front of the camera. Add in a baby who seemed equally unbothered by being photographed, and the entire evening felt relaxed from start to finish.
While family photos are obviously the priority, I always sneak in a few minutes for photos of just the two of them. Parenthood changes so much, but it's worth documenting the relationship that existed before the titles of mom and dad ever entered the picture.
Whether you're documenting a growing family, a new season, or simply life as it is right now, I'd love to help you preserve it. Inquire today to begin planning your session.
